Complete technical plan for building rabbit farm biosecurity systems, covering core implementation rules for functional zoning, personnel-material-vehicle flow control, introduction quarantine, routine disinfection monitoring, and emergency response planning.
Biosecurity is the first and most economically effective line of defense in rabbit farm disease prevention. Building a tight biosecurity system can reduce disease introduction risk by over 80%, with a far higher input-output ratio than treating diseases after occurrence.
Farm functional zoning is the spatial foundation of biosecurity. Strictly divide into four levels: office/living area, production support area, production area, and isolation area. Set up physical barriers (walls or green belts) between zones; clean and dirty paths must not cross. Personnel and materials flow unidirectionally from office area toward production area.
Entry control measures: set up vehicle disinfection pools (2% sodium hydroxide solution changed twice weekly) and personnel disinfection channels at the main gate. External vehicles must not enter the production area. Personnel must shower and change into work clothes before entering production areas. Feed and supplies undergo fumigation or UV disinfection in transition areas before entry.
Routine monitoring system: weekly sampling of drinking water, feed, and cage surfaces for total bacterial counts and coliforms. Monthly random collection of 30 serum samples for major disease antibody level monitoring. Quarterly ATP bioluminescence testing of disinfection effectiveness. Establish standardized electronic monitoring record archives.
Emergency response planning: clarify emergency response procedures for major diseases such as RHD and fulminating bacterial diseases. Includes immediate farm lockdown, rapid sampling for laboratory testing, emergency vaccination or culling, comprehensive intensified disinfection, and disease reporting. Conduct emergency drills every six months.
