Water is the most important nutrient in rabbit life activities, with adult rabbits drinking about 2-2.5 times their feed intake daily. Poor water quality or insufficient water intake severely affects herd health and growth rate. Ensuring adequate clean drinking water is fundamental to rabbit farm management.

Nipple drinkers are the preferred choice for large-scale rabbit farms, offering water conservation, hygiene, and reduced disease transmission. Install 15-20 cm above cage floor, with flow rate of 50-80 ml per minute. One nipple drinker serves 15-20 cage positions.

Bowl drinkers suit young and juvenile rabbits, making it easy for rabbits to drink without splashing. The disadvantage is need for regular cleaning to prevent algae and bacterial growth. Both types can be used in combination at different growth stages.

PPR hot-melt pipes or PE pipes are recommended for water lines, being corrosion-resistant with minimal biofilm formation. Main pipes 32-40 mm diameter, branch pipes 20-25 mm. Install with slope and install drain valves at low points for flushing. Insulate pipes in summer to prevent excessive water temperature.

Water quality should meet pollution-free livestock drinking water standards: no total coliform detected, pH 6.5-8.5, total hardness not exceeding 1500 mg/L. Regularly add 0.02-0.05% sodium hypochlorite or use UV sterilizers for inline disinfection.
