There is no universal immunization program; good programs are tailored to locality and farm conditions. Correct program development requires comprehensive consideration of three core factors: local disease prevalence, farm management model, and herd immune status.

Core vaccines are mandatory for every rabbit farm. RHD vaccine is a mandatory core vaccine; bivalent tissue-inactivated or recombinant subunit vaccines covering RHDV/RHDV2 are recommended. Pasteurella inactivated vaccine is designated as core in areas with high respiratory disease prevalence.

Vaccination schedule design must specify age at first dose, immunization interval, and booster frequency. Commercial rabbits: first RHD vaccination at 30-35 days, booster at 60-70 days. Pasteurella: first dose at 35 days, booster 21 days later. Breeding rabbits: booster every 4-6 months, avoiding late pregnancy.

Antibody monitoring is the gold standard for evaluating immunization effectiveness. RHD HI antibody titer of no less than 1:16 indicates adequate protection. Collect 30 serum samples for monitoring to represent population immunity levels. Immediately boost when antibody levels fall below protective thresholds.

Vaccine storage and usage: inactivated vaccines stored at 2-8 degrees Celsius protected from light; never freeze. Warm to room temperature and shake well before use. Use within 4 hours of opening. Inject subcutaneously at the nape, changing needles between rabbits. Maintain complete immunization records.
